About Our Hostel

Nombe pocket forest, 5 minutes walk to the Virunga volcanoes view point and the western rift valley and the Buniga Forest walk which is only 10 minutes drive. The lodge supports the nearby communities in agro-forestry projects majoring in high value tree planting, temperate fruit growing, vegetable growing, bee keeping . Clients who love nature are given a chance to plant and own a tree in the “Nombe go green tree planting project” which will bear their name tags and country of origin. Volunteer placements are also available in fields of conservation, Culture and Education for communities around bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The lodge is also visited by a number of other primates like,olive baboons,blue monkeys, L’hoest monkeys, red tailed monkey and black and white colubus monkeys. For bird watchers over 200 species of birds have been recorded on the lodge premises including the purple breasted Sunbird one of the Albertine rift endemic species.
