About Our Hostel
Indy Hostel is located in Indianapolis, Indiana nestled in the South Broad Ripple neighborhood. Our hostel is composed of two adjacent houses that share a fenced-in backyard. We offer a variety of housing needs including Co-Ed Dormitories, Female only Dormitories, and 5 Private Room options. Our common area includes a fully stocked kitchen (2 refrigerators, stove, oven, microwave, and complimentary coffee and tea), common areas with comfortable seating options, board games, and a few house guitars to play a tune, media room with lending library and a guest computer, and laundry facilities.
Outside there is plenty of green space, a covered deck with stage, seating options, and a firepit. We host many local events including weddings, private parties, group events, as well as our annual Indy Folk Fest. Our events are packed with local vendors, musicians, beer, food, and community members. We provide a snapshot of the local community in our very own backyard.
Just a few blocks away from the hostel is College Avenue with many local businesses and restaurants who provide our guests with discounts some of which include the following: Yats, The Sinking Ship, Rocket88 Doughnuts, Open Society, Upland Brewing Co. and many more. We are situated about 1.5 miles south of the popular Broad Ripple Village, which houses ~100 different restaurants, shops, nightclubs, and bars.
It’s easy to get to Indy Hostel as Indianapolis features all of the main travel options including: Indianapolis International Airport (20 miles away), Greyhound Bus (7 miles away), Megabus (6 miles away), Amtrak (7 miles away) and we are located along the major city bus line #17. Indianapolis also has Uber and Lyft for your rideshare needs.
Indianapolis has many great tourist attractions, some of the most popular include: Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Indiana War Memorial, the Canal, Indianapolis Zoo, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Hinkle Fieldhouse at Butler University (where the movie “Hoosiers” was filmed), Lucas Oil Stadium (home of the Indianapolis Colts), Bankers Life Stadium (home of the Indianapolis Pacers), the local hipster neighborhoods such as Massachusetts Ave. and Fountain Square.
